Let's make it easy. A quick search in the “Ads” tab can reveal all the insights you need to create an ad that resonates with your audience and makes an impact.

Make sure “Unlisted” is selected so you can find more direct response ads in addition to branding ads. Then make sure you filter by ad spend 30 days.

When you choose a particular ad, you can have a look at its actual data such as total ad spend, ad spend in the last 30 days, and last edit date.

Now, why do we call it the “Last edit date" instead of the "Publish date"? Actually, there's a way that the date of a YouTube video can be changed if the publisher has edited the video in the YouTube interface. That is uncommon but it can happen, so that's why we call this the “Last edit date" and not the upload date (typically this indeed is an upload date).

No, take a look at the full info page for the video you selected. If you scroll down you can see the chart of the ad spend and select the total time on it.

The first time we started tracking this ad I use as an example was on November 6th when it had about 100,000 in estimated ad spend. You may wonder why is there a difference between these two dates. That is because sometimes we capture the video a bit after it was originally published. Once we save it in the database, we can track it throughout its life cycle and then we can have those data points that show us how the ad was performing.

In the case of this ad, we can see several plateaus on the curve, which means that the advertiser stopped spending money during that period.

In short, this chart can answer your questions about when the video started, when the advertiser stopped spending money on it, and how many days it ran.
